Neutral cravings

I just got back from the most fantastic trip to New Delhi, India. I´m in love with the place, the food, the generous people and the colours. But as I got home yesterday, all I could think of was the calm neutrals. I think I just need a pause from the colorexplosion I just experiensed. As soon as I sort out my 1500 photos from the trip, I´ll show you some of what I saw.

Black beauty

I just paid a visit to Stylist Bagge and found this little beauty that I just have to share. The Swedish architects at In praise of shadows have designed this black house. A mix between home and studio. I get the feeling it´s a hybrid between a barn and Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, a home with perfect walls and light for exposing art.

So, now I´m off to India on a business trip. Wish you all a great week and I´ll let you know when I´m back.

TOAST fall

TOAST is not giving us many surprises this fall but I still found some items that made me smile. I think the apron is really nice with the black details and I wouldn´t mind eathing breakfast on their plates and bowls. When the winter cold is joining us, I will be in desperat need for the grey blanket.

Drawings

When I went to design school, all we did was make fashion drawings. Now, in my daily work there is very little drawing by hand. Must pick it up again!

India

In a few days time, I will be going to India. It will be my first visit and I´m super excited. We´ll be working so I don´t know how much I acctually will see of New Delhi, but one of the days we´ll attend a big wedding so I´ll at least experiense a little of their culture. Have you been their? Any tips?

Autumn garden

I´ve spent all day in the garden planting all sorts of Japanese grass, cedar bushes and lots of succulents. It´s great to put our own taste and style into the garden, instead of the old plants that have been here since the 70´s. Next year we will make a small pond to add some water in the garden. I think it will be great.

Origami trend?

For some time now, origami have poped up in different shapes and different places. For a couple of days Frida Ramstedt at Trendenser was showing us her work and she is some what of a trendsetter in the Swedish interior world, so I predict we will see a lot of it in the future. I find it a beautiful way of recycle the newspaper or why not use an old book to make something unique.

Weekday Carnival

There has been a hype around the Finnish blog, Weekday Carnival, for some time now and I just have to join the fan club. I love the austere and clean esthetic expressions. Usually with a base in black and white, but always with a playful twist and a splash of colour. And lots of humour. So my tip to you, if you haven´t yet made an acquaintance with this blog, go visit it.

Golden browns

Today I´m all about the rich, warm browns mixed with gold and honey. It´s been a lot of talk in different blogs about the rustic feel in advertising lately. Many interior companys show their products in an old stabel with horses or in vintage wooden houses, to get that authentic and genuine look with a lot of warmth in the pictures. I quite like it, a lot.
