Nude pastels

After listening to a lot different trend forcast agencys talking about the next coming trends, it´s easy to see a pattern in what they all predict. One of them is the change in how we see season-colours. They will merge, lighter nude pastels will be important for fall and dark "autumn" colours for spring... So, this post celebrates these nude tones and soft pastels as we come closer to the autumn season.

Simplicity

You can never go wrong with black & white... However I´m working on some paintings right now, trying to keep them in simply black & white and it is really hard to get them to work without looking flat. I´m working in both ink and acrylic to see what looks the best in only black, I´ll show you when I´ve made a few.

Two cultures - one language

I have had the photos from Korean Vogue in my file for some time and when I found the artwork by Kristin Vestgard at The Paper Mulberry, I felt they had something in common. From two different parts of the world, they speak the same language...

São Paolo bachelor pad

This trendy modern apartment is located in the West side of São Paulo and is the living quarters of a successful bachelor who wishes to reside near his company headquarters. The owner, FJ is a young DJ and entrepreneur and the the place is designed and renoveted by Studio Guilherme Torres. The apartment was a typical 1980´s flat and in desperate need of renovation. I love how they have integrated the lights into the walls and ceilings. The surface of concrete all over the place brings a contemporary feel which brings the best out of the impressive photos.

Pimping your bathroom

One way of making your bathroom more personal is to place everyday objects in the room. An oriental rug, photos and artwork, books or why not a sofa...

New York townhouse

Templer Townhouse is a renovation made by Workshop For Architecture.  The company was established in 2003 as a collaborative design and research studio. This project included the garden, parlor and basement levels of a brick townhouse in the west Chelsea neighborhood of New York. The primary intention of the design was reconnect the garden level spaces with the exterior while creating more open living spaces throughout incorporating minimalist details. I can move in any day...

Bidum baskets

I really like baskets, in any shape and colour, and these are no exception. "Bidum" are designed by Laetitia Florin, a dynamic form that is affected by both its context and enviornment. The objects are handcrafted out of spring steel wrapped in cotton and held together by hidden rivets. I like the pictures above showing us the process; from sketchbook, construction process to a finished objekt. Have a look at the video and be amazed of the shape and movement, working together.

Creative duo in Brooklyn

Eva Dayton has spent most of her career focusing on fashion; she spent several years at Armani before opening her own boutique, Butter, on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn. She renamed the shop Eva Gentry when she began working with her husband and collaborator, Gentry Dayton; together they have also begun to work designing interiors. With Eva's predilection for well-edited black and white minimalism (the store is stocked with pieces by Helmut Lang, Rick Owens, and Martin Margiela, among others) mixed with Gentry's Harley Davidson motorcycle chic aesthetic, it adds up to what Eva calls "tough minimalism." The duo has completed several interior design jobs, including the Helmut Lang showroom in New York, as well as their own Brooklyn apartment, which was has been featured in UK Elle Decoration and RUM. To see more of their work, visit Eva Gentry.
