Room for a boy
My never ending project is my sons room. We have bougt the colour and built the shelfs but then our energy ended and nothing more has been done. So, hopefully I will get started soon again to finish what will be Axels own space (even if he thinks the whole house is his to sprinke toys all over). The base will be white and pale aqua with accents in bold colours. My nex DIY will be to make posters for the walls and hopefully Axel will help me. Or maybe I paint some tires and turn them into a table. To be continued...

Barn delux
I found this amazing barn at the scandininavian/french blog; La maison d´Anna G. The barn is situated on the island of Gotland, one of the most beautiful places in Sweden. The photos are taken by Amelia & Andreas Lönngren Widell, (it´s Amelia´s father who lives here) from the lovely blog A Beautiful Living, and published in the latest issue of Residence magazine. I just love the coloured glas, the mix of patterns on the cusions, the espresso machine placed by the window and the beds outdoors. Well, I love it all.

Orla Kiely
I´m a big admire of Orla Kiely. She is a fantastic graphic designer with amazing prints, but personaly I think she is showing her strength when it comes to colours. Entering her store in London aways brings a smile to my face. So, when I found these great shots of her home, threw the lovely blog French by design, my heart started to beat a little faster. I love the bold accents in glasobjects and furntures mixed with the calm neutrals on the walls. Photos by Chris Tubbs.

Flashback from the past
I just found this home in Berlin threw Annaleenas hem and just got such a flashback from when I used to live in Dresden (former East Germany). This was in the mid 90´s and things were a bit different from here. I only lived there for a year but it was a very strong and important experiance for me. We lived in a flat without phone, bathroom, hardly no electricity (when I used the vacuum cleaner everything else turned black...) and no heating. Everyone made their homes from things they found on the streets (literally), including us, and I have never seen such creative homes. People took what they had and made beautiful, individual and expressive decorations and solutions. This home in Berlin is a perfect example of how I remember former East German appartments. Raw, imperfect and personal.

New York townhouse
Templer Townhouse is a renovation made by Workshop For Architecture. The company was established in 2003 as a collaborative design and research studio. This project included the garden, parlor and basement levels of a brick townhouse in the west Chelsea neighborhood of New York. The primary intention of the design was reconnect the garden level spaces with the exterior while creating more open living spaces throughout incorporating minimalist details. I can move in any day...

Home of a fashion blogger
In the latest edition of Residence, Elin Kling (Sweden´s number one fashion blogger) is showing her and her boyfriend Gustafs home. An appartment in the center of Stockholm, that Elin describes as "bohemian chic". Most of the furnitures are brought back from Gustaf´s former home in New York. I love their mix of scandinavian classics, piles of books and amazing selection of shoes.

Roman & Williams...again
I have written about this dynamic design duo before. Twice acctually... and I was delighted to see some new shots of their work made by talented photographer Ditte Isager. Roman and Williams are based in New York and have for example done some amazing work with The Ace Hotel and The Standard in NY. They have a very specific and personal style that makes my heart tick just a little bit faster.

Creative duo in Brooklyn
Eva Dayton has spent most of her career focusing on fashion; she spent several years at Armani before opening her own boutique, Butter, on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn. She renamed the shop Eva Gentry when she began working with her husband and collaborator, Gentry Dayton; together they have also begun to work designing interiors. With Eva's predilection for well-edited black and white minimalism (the store is stocked with pieces by Helmut Lang, Rick Owens, and Martin Margiela, among others) mixed with Gentry's Harley Davidson motorcycle chic aesthetic, it adds up to what Eva calls "tough minimalism." The duo has completed several interior design jobs, including the Helmut Lang showroom in New York, as well as their own Brooklyn apartment, which was has been featured in UK Elle Decoration and RUM. To see more of their work, visit Eva Gentry.
