A fireplace please

The nights are getting colder and yesterday we even had a little bit of snow on the ground for about five minutes. It´s times like these, when an open fireplace is the perfect item in a home. We just tore ours down and it will be at least six months before we can even start think about a new one. Perfect timing right...? But next time it will look something like the photos above and then I will still in my pyjamas with a knitted cardigan and just enjoy life.

DIY Christmas

I´m not forcasting trends in interior but I would say that this years most common trend is DIY projects. Acctually it´s been a DIY year... We see a large changement in peoples shopping behaviors and I guess we all like to get back to a simple and more minimal approach towards our homes and decoration. I love the ideas above, showing easy DIY decorations for this years Christmas. Who´s up for a book tree? I am.

Christmas au naturel

I just got back from Berlin where the whole city was dressed in classic christmas colours such as red, green and gold. This year I feel for a more natural Christmas with pale colours and a home made feeling. Using white and unbleached paper, acorns and branches from a tree. Today we will make gingerbread cookies, Axel is super excited. What´s your plan for today?

Annaleenas calender

A strike of genious. Yesterday I visited Annaleenas HEM  and found this amazing calender. I haven´t made a calender in my life but now when our son is old enough I want to make him one. So I´ll steel this great idea and say thank you to Annaleena for yet another DIY project to love.

Grey stars

I´ve been gathering photos of christmas decorations for a while now (if you follow me at Pinterest you´ve seen...) and when I came across these grey stars at Daniella Witte I just fell in love. Unfortunally her store Inreda Utreda is a bit to far from where I live but fortunally Daniella is kind enough to send some in the mail. Now I just have to decide how many I will buy.

Inspiring workspace

I just read an article about inspiring offices the other day. They were showing pictures of futuristic and fantastic workspaces around Gothenburg. That made me think about my own workspace. Sorry, "X" (the company I work for, that I don´t want to name), but I have to say that the area where we work (and I´m working with design!) is anything but inspiring... What would we create if our daily surrounings looked anything like this? Something great I´m sure. What´s like were you work? Does the area make you feel creative?

Forever black

I keep feeling inspired by sharp, graphic shapes in charcoal black. As simple and clean as possible.

Little Studio.

Yesterday I got a mail from Little Studio, run by Marit Lissdaniels and Angelica Utterberg. They started their company in 2010 with mainly posters but have now also designed cusions, cutting boards, trays and other lovley items for the design consious home. Everything is produced in Sweden, which I think is great. I really like their mix of patterns and colours, it feels fresh! Check out the website.

Black is black

As a fasion designer it´s almost expected to always wear black. At the last seminar with Li Edelkoort, she was talking about wearing black as a kind of sheld. Something one wear to become invisble and protected. When it comes to interior it´s the other way around, going "all black" becomes a statement of boldness.
