Knits & light

I love when two unexpected elements meet, like these; knits and light. Especially, I like how they have worked with the knit around the cord and exaggerated the lenght, making this part more visible and interesting. The lights come from a very innovative german designgroup called llot llov.

Cathrine Raben Davidsen

Cathrine Raben Davidsen, danish artist with a very specific artistic expression. Beautiful technique, with a slightly mysterious feel to the motif. There is an interesting sadness that captures me.

Rugs for me

Scholten & Baijings have made some really nice rugs for danish HAY. For some reason they remind me of the modern textil craft one often see in modern churches. I like the colours and modern graphics and wouldn´t mind one for the livingroom.

Jieldé - perfection

This is a lamp I have been obsessing about for quite some time now. I have very specific demands on which one I want, a vintage version in steel grey. They come fresh from the factory as we speak, but what´s the fun in that (however they make them in a lot of pretty colours...). The lighting I´m talking about is of course the classic Jieldé (Loft or Signal), designed by Jean-Lous Domecq in France in the early 50´s. A true classic that have made a comeback with the ongoing industrial trend.

Art in bed

As you all know, I love to paint and right now I´m working on something for the bedroom. I have a thing for painting on a very large canvas, it´s so much more fun working in extreme scales. Usually my paintings end up quite colourful but this time I´m keeping it simple in black and white.

Light bulb xxl

As I have written before, I love lights! So you can emagine my happyness when I saw these on Designtraveller. I really like the smoke- and amber-coloured glas. A simple and modern shape mixed with a little bit of humour. The lights are called Muffins and are designed by Lucie Koldova and Dan Yeffet, manufatured by Brokis.

Black home delight

Black, svart, noir...it´s a beautiful colour and this home in Berlin is both powerful and elegant, making a strong statment because of the colouring. I love how white becomes a bold accent instead of a natural base. Adding a strong orange and the place becomes eccentric.

Still thinking about bathrooms

After writing about my search for bathroom-inspiration,  I spoke to a friend about the matter. We both thought most bathrooms looks the same and not very personal. So now I have tried to find some new ideas with focus on personal details. I still want to make the bathroom in offwhite and concrete but adding contrast materials and colours will hopefully make the room feel warm and inviting.

Playful graphics

I get quite happy looking at these playful artwork. They resemble of Barbapapa with that round shape and colours. The first three posters are made by an Australian artist, Marnie Gilder. The last print is made by Jerome Gould.

Living in Argentina

This is an oasis in Buenos Aires, owned by furniture designer Alejandro Sticotti. I find this home warm and beautiful with just the right details and no fuss. And the fantastic nature just outside, to enjoy threw those massive windows.
