Nude pastels

After listening to a lot different trend forcast agencys talking about the next coming trends, it´s easy to see a pattern in what they all predict. One of them is the change in how we see season-colours. They will merge, lighter nude pastels will be important for fall and dark "autumn" colours for spring... So, this post celebrates these nude tones and soft pastels as we come closer to the autumn season.

Room for a boy

My never ending project is my sons room. We have bougt the colour and built the shelfs but then our energy ended and nothing more has been done. So, hopefully I will get started soon again to finish what will be Axels own space (even if he thinks the whole house is his to sprinke toys all over). The base will be white and pale aqua with accents in bold colours. My nex DIY will be to make posters for the walls and hopefully Axel will help me. Or maybe I paint some tires and turn them into a table. To be continued...

Finnish graphics

Sorry for my blog silence but long days at the beach have kept me from my computer and I can´t think of a better excuse right now...

Althoug when I found this home I could not resist to show you. Homes from Finland tend to have a clean, graphic style, at least that is my conclusion from fishish bloggs (have unfortunally never been to Finland). I really like their estetics and this lovely home is no exception. It´s Suki, the owner of the finish blog Varpunen, who just moved in to their new home and this is what it looks like. I love the black and white mixed with some bright blue and red. If I can get ahold of that red apple, I´m a happy girl.

Fashion fairy

Threw my college Jenny, I got to know about this illustrator Laura Laine. She has worked for companies like The New Yorker, Zara, Muse Magazine etc. Unfortunally my own fashion drawing have been completely forgotten, so today I just enjoy others instead. I like how she is playing with the proportions and I would love to have their hair... It´s like a fashion fairytail.

Birds with an attitude

I think these are brilliant! Brendan Wenzel is a New York based illustrator with great affection for "all things furrier than himself"... Lovely colouring and lots of personality in the birds.

Watercolour beauty

There is something absolutely intriguing about watercolours. Here are three different artists, with three different motifs but still they have something mysterious in common. The iceberg is made by Leslie Shows. The two faces (one of Naomi Campbell) are made by South African Marlene Dumas and the billboard by Ed Ruscha.
