Eat your greens or put it on the wall

As soon as the snow melts of the ground, I get a feel for the greens. In all shades and shapes, all the way from dark oliv to the brightest spring green. On a glass vas or a big painting, it just gets me going.

I´m not much for wallstickers, even if the designs have become more interesting lately. But this one might change my mind, "I never saw the sign" by David Bray for Blik. Sexy and cool.

The use of a basket

I have threw the years bought baskets in various designs. Often I buy them with the beach in mind but the real use have been in the house. They work as storage for my sons toys, for wood to the open fire, laundery and as decor in general. A multifunctional product that doesn´t hurt the eye...

Follow me to San Paulo

 

Living in Sweden is great in many ways but when it comes to the weather, there is one or two things to wish for...  When it´s grey, cold and windy here, I tend to fantasize about other continents. So follow me in my daydreaming to San Paulo, to this beautiful home photographed by the italian Andrea Ferrari. Can I offer you anything to drink in my fantasy home?

Gifts and purchases

Yesterday my lovely designassistant gave me the perfect gift; The Selby is in your place. A interior book with a bohemian and alternative feel to it. My advice is just to get it, you´ll smile all the way threw the book. The photos are warm and messy, the little illustrations adorible and the people are genuine.

After work I went to an interiorstore called a&co in Gothenburg and purchased the poster I´ve been wanting for some time. It´s from Hagedornhagen in Denmark. Can´t wait to get it framed. Who said things can´t make you happy...  I´m sitting here with a glass of wine, reading my book and looking at the bug.

London hotspots, part 2

The Wapping Project

I realized that I completely forgott about some of my favorite hotspots in London when I wrote about it last. So here comes a supplement to the list:

E A T:
Nordic Bakery, on 14a Golden Square (Soho) or 37b New Cavendish Street (Marylebone). It´s a Scandinavian style of bakery. Why go to a Scandinavian place in London if you´re from Sweden, you might ask...just because it´s nice and good.

Little Georgia, 87 Goldsmiths Row in East End. A small, humble café with touches of Gergian folk art and memorbilia from the Old Country. A little gem.

Bistrotheque, 23 Wadeson Street in East End. Brunch and dinner menues are made up of French bistro and English classics. A cool interior with an industrial feel to it.

St. John Bread and Wine, across Spitalfields Market in East End. A place for good food and trendspotting.

The Wapping Project, Wapping Hydraulic Power Station in East End. The adress says it all. A place to enjoy food and art in a exposed brick industrial space.

The Providores, 109 Marylebone High Street. A combination of Australian-influenced cooking with the concept of tapas. The also have a popular bar.

Pedlars, 128 Talbot Road in Notting Hill. An eclectic mix of homewares and gift. From contemprary to vintage. Old bus signs mixed with playful items.

Few and Far, 242 Brompton Road in Knightsbridge. The sister of Terence Conran is running this quirky little store. One-off items, handmade clothes mixed with vintage and contemporary furniture.

Labour and Wait, 85 Redchurch Street in East End.. The store offers an eclectic mix of tableware, brooms, practical goods and everyday classics. They are "moving away from gratuitous design and faddish fashion".

Shelf, 40 Cheshire Street in East End. Quirky homeware, illustrations, kid´s books, ceramics and much more in this cute little shop.

SCP, 87 Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill. The shop with all the designer classics one can only dream about.

Hot pink

There are days when some hot pink just makes my day. It´s not my favorite colour but it still gets me, especially after a grey day like yesterday. Layers of pink; in wood, flowers or just a post-it... Sheer happiness!

Cardboard cactus

Since I´m terrible at keeping plants alive, maybe this is the best idea. A "cactus grande" in a big black pot and our son could get a cardboard cactus for his room so he doesn´t hurt himself.

Fiddle Leaf Fig

Maybe it´s just me, but there are a lot of interior pictures around with large fig trees indoors. I have also read one or two design blogs writing about cactus. The trend for garden interest is entering the homes. The problem is just to find these great plants. It seam like the nursery gardens and flowershops haven´t caught up on this trend yet. At least not were I live...

Andrea Ferrari

Andrea Ferrari is an italien photograper with some absolutly beautiful work. She has a relaxed feel to her quite dark photos. They all feel very "unstyled" and for that I love them.

Dutch beauty

These lovely lights made by dutch duo Daphna Laurens. They are called "Tafelstukken" and this is a special serie made for Mint Gallery. I love the well designed little details and inovative style. The designduo transforms everyday objects into characteristic products.
