Yes, I do
So, now they have finally said yes, Prince William and Kate Middleton. I thought she had a lovely lace and satin dress, designed by Sarah Burton, the creative director for the late Alexander McQueen. What did you think of it? Will it make the same impact in the fashion-world as Princess Diana´s dress did?
When we got married two years ago it was a completely different kind of wedding. It was just the two of us and our son. My dress broke a minute before the ceremony and the flowers (hortensia), I picked up an hour earlier on the streetcorner... We were in Mallorca, Spain and had a fantastic day, followed by a great week in a small village on the island. Nothing like the wedding today but still the best day ever!

Room with a view
I love how the nature is integrated into the livingspace by the large windows. It´s like a giant piece of artwork. We have large windows all around two of the walls in the livingroom and it´s fantastic to just sit and look out at the trees. Who needs televison when you have nature to look at?

Alternative gardening
Continuing on the earlier subject, but moving it outdoors. I won´t be able to grow anything in the garden this year because of the drainage work we are doing so maybe I should try one of these ideas instead.

Greens on the wall
I found these great shots at vtwonen and thought they looked lovely. Why not place something odd like some greens or some baskets on the wall instead of paintings? I think I will try...

Upcoming colour
Peach, salmon or powder pink...call it whatever you want but it´s a colour that is poping up here and there lately. It´s a strong fashion colour for this spring and I´m sure we will see more of it in our homes. Although I think it´s really important to find new ways to play with this colour since it´s easy to think "teenage girl from the 80´s" when you first see it. Mix it with greys or other neutrals and it will look great.
The two first photos from Agent Bauer, first one styled by Lotta Agaton, the second by Lo Bjurulf. The String in a new colour for this season.

Great friends
Today we had some friends over for brunch. Emagine my surprise when they came with some chocolate from The Mast Brothers in Brooklyn. I wrote about this place a while ago, and hoped to visit when I was in New York, but I never had any time. So, thank you M & A for this lovely gift. And I just want to tell you that they don´t just look great, the taste is sensational...trying the Brooklyn Blend right now.

Can someone please help me
I hope you´ve all had a great saturday. I´ve been in paradise, an island on the west-coast, with great food and sun all day long. But now I´m back home to excersise some gardening.
When I were in New York, I found these great leather chairs in a clothing store as decor. I just fell in love and asked the staff if they knew were they came from. They had no idea and neither do I. I´m guessing Italian... Do you know who´ve made them or where they´re from? Please help me if you can.

Oh, thank you
Before my trip to the US I was flattered with not one, but two lovely awards. I got so excited and happy but I felt I had to wait to tell you until I had time to write about it. It´s a feeling like no other to get recognition from you readers. So, thank you very much Maria at miaw Inredning & Design for "the Liebster Blog".
And thank you Elina at Maräng Form for your "I love your blog "award, included some questions to be answered. So here we go.
Why did I start to blog?
I have a very creative work but for some reason I felt that I had "more to give" and had to find a way to express that. My true passion is interior so it just felt natural to start blogging about things I love.
What type of blog do I enjoy reading?
Anything with a personal edge within fashion, interior, art or photography.
Favorite make-up brand?
I´m terrible with make-up but I aways use my eyeliner from Lancome and mascara from Kanebo. But when it comes to beauty products, I´m a sucker for Dermalogica.
Favorite clothing label?
To pic one is not possible. Marc by Marc Jacobs, Loft by Design, COS, Acne, Isabel Marant...the list is endless.
Favorite colour?
Olive green. Pale pink. Chocolate brown. Sunny yellow. Stone grey. Why choose one...
Favorite perfume?
Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel, every day for the last ten years.
Favorite movie?
Grease. Seen it about a hundred times, it´s no quality movie in any way but I went threw my teens with a smile, hoping to become Sandy.
What country would I like to visit?
I saw Grand Designs yesterday so today my answer is Australia.
What´s on my bedside table?
A Barbapapa book.
I would like to give these fabulous blogs some extra credit and acknowledgement by passing on the awards:
These blogs makes me happy every time I visit them. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I do.

New York update
Le Pain Quotidien |
It´s fantastic to be back in New York, I absolutely love this city! Yesterday we had a lovely day visiting a lot of different parts of the city. We started off with breakfast at Le Pain Quotidien. An all organic coffeshop with delights to die for.
Hell´s Kitchen Fleemarket |
After breakfast we headed straight to Hell´s Kitchens Fleemarket. A market filled with clothes, jewllery, art and furnitures. For anyone who have an interest in industrial design and especially chairs, this is the place to go. I found some great metal stools for only 35 dollars...the only problem is that I can´t bring them on the plane so I had to leave them for someone else to buy.
Brooklyn Fleemarket |
Then we took a taxi to Brooklyn. After a lot of wandering we finally found Brooklyn Fleemarket next by Hudson river. This market was even bigger and had a lot of things to desire. I ended up buying some wooden letters, like the ones above.
It´s great to see all the trees in bloom.
High line and The Standard hotel |
I have never been to the High line before so that was a real treat. It´s an old railway, above the streets, that has been transformed into a contemporary garden.
Pastis |
Lunch at Pastis in Meatpacking is a classic. Great for looking at people.
Window display at Stella McCartney and window shot from Magnolia Bakery |
Community garden with little lots to work on for the neighboorhood. Vintage chairs at Anthropologie Window display with cork at Antropologie Esperanto restaurant in East Village |
And a part from the pictures I´ve been showing, we also had a twelve hour workday... But I´m loving it. Now I have to get ready for breakfast at Baltazar and then another day at work.

The work of a designer
I´m working as a fashiondesigner. It was something I knew that I wanted to do since I was seven years old and made my first garment (without a pattern, so it hardly qualifys as a piece of clothing...) Never the less, I spent years of drawing and sewing. Went to a lot of schools so that I finally could enter the world of fashion. At university we spent hours drawing our collection, making great fashion illustration. Then we spent even more hours by the sewingmachine.
Now I´ve worked more than a decade and unfortunally I have to say that my work has little to do with fashion illustrations and sewing. I think that´s why I´ve started to paint lately, because I seldom get to use "the hand" at work. Don´t misinterpret what I just wrote, I LOVE my work. It´s just quite far from where I started...
So it was with great pleasure I found these lovely shots at From me to you, showing how the designer of the Brooklyn based clothing line Edelweiss by Sarah work. It inspires me a lot to peek in to her world.
But as I said before, I love my work, even if I spend more time by the computer than at the drawing board. And tomorrow I get to go to New York, to get inspired for next coming collection, one of the many perks having this trade. So, I don´t know how much you´ll be hearing from me in a couple of days. Maybe I´ll be able to update you on my "Big Apple experience"...otherwise see you soon again.
