Pastel time

If you have for some reason missed it...let me tell you that pastels are one of the key trends this year in fashion. It started out with Philip Lim, Prada, J Crew, Acne (and a lot of others) letting models down the runway in both pale and bold pastels. The fashionworld went crazy and soon everyone else followed. You will see a lot of it in the stores this summer, all the chainstores and smaller brands were quick to pick this up. Of course the interiorworld is doing their way of pastels. I really like the mint mixed with the nude wood...

Spring feelings

Oh, how I love these first days of spring! The sun has been shining the entire weekend and we have been outdoors from morning to evening. It the best feeling in the world to have the first cup of coffee on the terrace and then walk around in the garden to see green sprouts making their way to the surface.

Great week

I´ve had some fantastic days in Paris. First of all, we were there to visit the large fabric fair, Premiére Vision but I also spent some times walking around the shops to see what french fashion presents this spring. Of course a visit to the design concept store Merci is compulsory. This time they had filled the store with stylish bikes and everything to do with biking. Bikes is actually a common denominator for all of the trend forcast lectures I´ve listened to this year...

I also had the great honour to listen to my favorite trend guru Li Edelkoort talk about Autumn Winter 13-14. It´s always a pleasure to hear her speak and I´m amazed of her accurate predictions.

After a busy week in Paris I went home to change suitcase and head down to Tylösand Spa & Hotel for a relaxing weekend with my family. Very nice, especially the great view of the sea right outside the window. The hotel is also well known for it´s large art gallery. For me, that was the best part of the entire weekend. My favorite artist was Jesper Petersson, a fashion and art photographer from Halmstad. I now have one of his pieces on my "wish list".

Paris Paris

I´m off to Paris for a couple of days. Hoping for lots of great fashion and some eyecandy in my favorite interior store Merci. I´ll let you know how it was...

White on white

I´ve spent all day today out on the frozen sea, walking around on the ice with nothing else but white snow as far as I could see. Beautiful, especially since the sun greated us with it´s presents. So today I go all white even in this post.

Blush

I´m sure no one have missed the hype for pastells this spring. In fashion it´s one of the key palette for the season and we sure see the 80´s influence in interior as well. I quite like a pale blush tone mixed with grey or a dusty teal, so it feels new and not too retro.

Dries Van Noten Spring 2012

My absoulte favorite on the runway this spring have to be Dries Van Noten. He is a genius when it comes to colours and prints and this year he didn´t disappoint me. Clean, fresh, contemporary and wearable...just the way I like it. Of course, I had to mix in some photos of interior to make a point; design is universal.

Est Magazine nr 4

Est Magazine (from Austalia) just released their 4th issue on the web. I like their mix and of course their liking of scandinavian design. Especially I liked the article about the clever design duo Piet and Karin Boon. Est showed three of 'the Boon' creations; an apartment and a houseboat in Amsterdam, and a villa in Portugal. Here are some snaps from these pictures. I hope you can see "what goes where"... I can move in to the houseboat any day.

Going crazy

I´ve come to a point in my life when I need to do drastic changes in my behaviors so this week I´ve made some adjustments to my everyday living. For the first time in seven years I´ve joined a gym and lets just say I will regret that tomorrow. To get some results I´ve also joined the WeightWatchers... and now I´m going crazy. All I can hink of some chocolate with sea salt or a nice glas of wine! So to I keep myself busy I´m painting. Anything to not think about food. It´s not really working.

It seams to be some kind of award season right now. For a little while ago I was honored with two lovely awards. A "Libsten award" from Victoria at A faded palette and then another one from sweet Elina. Thank you two!! The one from Elina included some questions to be answered and I´m not the one who say no to that... So here we go;

1. Favourite song?

 1,2,3,4 by Feist

2. Favourite dish?

 A good quality buffalo mozarella with some olive oil and a basil leaf beats amost anything.

3. What makes you irritated?

 I´m a she-devil when I get behind the weel. When someone is cutting in front of me or drive badly in general, I go nuts. Just to let you know, this is not something I´m proud of.

4. When I'm upset.

I cry.

5. Favourite pet?

 I´m not really a pet person (to my husbands sorrow. He´s a dog person).

6. Black or white?

 Black. I´m a fashion designer, what else do I need to say... I´m born loving black.

7. My biggest fear?

 That something would happen to my family. If I read something bad about a child in the newspaper on my way to work I have to stop myself from not going back home just to hug my son.

8. My everyday attitude.

 Work hard. Have fun. Trying to get everyone around me to smile.

9. What is perfection for me?

 Time with my family, in the sun.

10. My bad habits?

 How many should I tell you? I really hate opening the mail, especially bills. My motto is "if I haven´t read the letter, it doesn´t excist".

11. Seven things about me.

1.I´m married with Gustaf since 2010 and have a 3 year old son.

2. We live in a house with desperate renovation needs.

3. I´m painting pictures, hoping to have an exibition soon.

4. I´ve been working as a fashion designer for the last 13 years. Love my job.

5. I cry to every movie I see. Even "happy tears" if I watch the Oscars and someone gives a great speach.

6. Love meeting new people.

7. Love, love, love good food and wine.

Quick fix

We were just off to a dinner party last night when I just realized I had nothing to wrap the gifts in. After a quick search I found some old wallpaper and Washi tape. I also used some old felt balls that I´ve used to make toys. A quick fix that turned out quite all right if you ask me...
